(Spoilers for 7.4 Dawntrail MSQ)Not much can be remembered about their childhood. Eros Janasch was a name given to a supposed unnamed child after losing his parents. They spent the better part of her childhood raised by the people outside the walls of Ul'dah, constantly being passed around back and forth between those who found fondness and hope in the eyes of a child who was yet innocent to horrors of the world around them. And yet as they got older, they became more and more exposed with each passing of a caretaker out of her life. Eventually at age 18, he decided he had enough and wanted something more for themself. All it took was stealing a noble's bag out in the streets of Ul'dah, curiosity getting the better of him of seeing a strange air ship ticket that soon took them to the strange and colorful world of the Gold Saucer. From there, she decided to blend with the crowds of patrons, but many employees found them charming and fairly good at the games they played. Many jokes were made about their colorful hair, being referred to as a strawberry banana.Eros took that to renaming himself and leaving her whole past identity behind when they were eventually offered an position to work as a dealer. They grew to dislike the many wealthy patrons as they spoke poorly of people like her who never grew up knowing a peaceful life. And thus, began his streak of learning to outdo her participants in games and bleed their pockets dry. That was...until one particular patron finally outdid them; a wealthy au ra man with an underground trading empire in his hands....yet someone she found relating to in hardship to get where they were.So he left with the man to become his closest confidant, though learned fairly quickly that their dynamic didn't benefit each other in their emotional struggles, to which Strawberry decided to cut the thread early to find a new passion in their life while still keeping in touch with the man who at least made them see that sometimes the world outside his personal bubble has some good in it.Though they still look forward one day to finally challenge that man to a rematch of Triple Triad.--However there is more to it than that, after all, how could an unknown lalafell have so much potential in magic? Especially one with no family that seems to have any connections with in Eorzea...or anywhere on Etherys.Though perhaps the answers lie on the disappearance of those in Southern Seas Isles back so long ago and where they could've gone.Perhaps there's some reinvigoration to continue the search of their past and where they really came from.Maybe the answers lie somewhere in the Ninth.

(spoilers for shadowbringers lore)Back before the calamity that befell the First one hundred years ago, Voebert was still a thriving kingdom at the time. Mathias was just one of many high class nobles of Voebert. Born to loving and caring parents, from a young age, he felt comfortable being called a prince instead of a princess and his parents supported him all the more. However, growing up in high society wasn't the easiest for him at a young age. So soft spoken growing up, he always stumbled his words through banquets and balls at an important time where many nobles found themselves at to think of their future with others present; whether it be for themselves to decide or for their parents to decide for them. While Mathias was a free spirit, he was always found to be different for his shy to eccentric personality when growing comfortable with others. They wanted those who acted proper and demure and Mathias never wanted to be that way. As such, he found it harder growing up to make acquaintances, much less friends. His solstice to his loneliness was his loyal knight that had been assigned to him at a young age, growing up together despite their positions. Overtime as he grew up, Mathias began to grow feelings for said knight and their relationship eventually blossomed into something more. Fated to have that perfect ending like a faerie tale, to even be wedded once they were ready. Mathias was ecstatic to start a life with his husband. Even as to tell his parents that he did not wish to inherit the nobility title in the family, all he wanted was a normal life with the man who would love him for their rest of their lives together.Unfortunately, fate would never grant them that chance as the calamity struck them this far out in Norvrandt. The horrid sight of people turning into marbleized creatures with their base instinct of spreading their light even if it meant killing their loved ones or turning into these self same sineaters.Mathias felt fear as his husband attempted to lead him far from their kingdom, unknown of the fate of his family and those familiar faces he saw his whole life.Yet before they can find true safety, they were attacked by sineaters, tried as they might, they couldn't hold them off. As such for one final sacrifice, seeing his beloved wounded with hardly any strength left, Mathias was pushed by his husband from a cliff to the running water below, whether to live or die, but to not end up like the same creatures that finally overtook him. Mathias seeing the last sights of his beloved shrouded in bright light after being stabbed before his vision went dark.Somehow, someway, the gods believed it was not his time and thus the noble was cast through a rift as he fell. Time passed before he woke up in green pastures and beautiful blue skies, unaware of where he ended up...unaware of what he was doing before waking up.A lonely man with his memories of the traumatic and earlier events of his life that happened; all suppressed as he woke up in the Source. Was he some kind of prince? How did he end up here? And what's the wedding band laying near him that perfectly fit his finger?

(cw; child neglect, implied death)The story isn't about a child of the star, but of one that first started her life in the modern times of the human world.Born to parents from two different countries who were in an arranged marriage; one who's a promoter of her family's luxurious beauty company and another given the inheritance and position of CEO of a competing finance business, Mei's parents were always on the forefront of their work and recognized for it. However, no one in media outlets knew of Mei's presence or even knew of her existence. Her parents had quickly grew shameful of her as she grew up; she was never able to pick up right away the teachings her parents were giving her as a small child and decided that she wouldn't be the inheritor of their respected business. And so, she was kept from the eye of the public while her parents were out, never to be seen outside with her parents, never to even utter the real names of her parents in the private schools she attended as they never even showed up to any events that encouraged parents to support their students. All Mei had for any sort of parental figure in her life was her caretaker as a child, who loved her like and actual parent and even attended her school events and made sure to record it all for her to remember. Yet once Mei reached middle school, she no longer saw her caretaker again; her parents thought she "outgrew" for any sort of person to "spoil" her. She was forced to live in the house mostly on her own, yet still had housekeepers that would make her meals and clean after her, but were never allowed to interact with her aside from asking basic questions of where her stuff should be placed. In school she didn't have many friends due to being a social outcast and being someone forbidden to talk about her personal life while everyone got to freely talk about their family, their lives, and hangout outside of school.Eventually as she got older, Mei grew for a love of music as being her only solstice in her loneliness that drew a line between her and people. She asked her music teacher about giving her private lessons which she was glad for, gaining a love for violin and piano. However, this never got to last either once her parents found out she was staying behind after school instead of immediately coming straight home and made sure she was always picked up from school as soon as classes finished, leaving her more trapped and feeling as is the only interest that made her happy was a waste of time. Once she reached college and even had to move out of her hometown, she still never got to have her freedom; her parents paid her apartment that she had to stay in no matter what, and she always felt as if she was being watched as she always received calls from her father to berate her for being out late or going anywhere outside her campus and the apartment.Eventually she was forced to drop out of school; both to poor grades and her parents announcing to her that they have arranged a marriage for her to a man who was close to receiving his family's company and fortune. When she met the man for the first time; he told her that she must always be by his side and never say a word that hasn't been prepared for her. Only to be nothing but a pretty face and nothing more. In her mind, all Mei could do is grit her teeth and nod in silence.Yet on the last day that she was to live in her apartment before moving back with her parents, she decided for once to break a rule, and step out into the world, even if it was just walking a block away to the nearest corner store. And yet she can't quite remember the trip getting there. One moment she was crossing the street, and the next moment.....she opened her eyes to a world she could never even imagine in her dreams. And now she has to learn what this world has in store for her and start to learn how to finally live a life for herself.

Name: Sango Matsui
Age: 34 in ARR
Pronouns: She/Her
Nameday: 15th Sun of the 2nd Umbral Moon (April 15th)
Race: Raen Au'ra
Patron Saint: Menphina
Sango only vaguely remembers of memories before being taken in by the Malaguld tribe. She remembers living in a far off land with her parents and one day while they were on a trip around Yanxia, that ran into an incident where the small au'ri girl was lost, to wander around the wilderness to the point that she had reached the nomadic lands of the Azim Steppe. A small child who cried for her parents and when members of the Malaguld found her and did their best to search for them, it was to no avail. A five year old Sango was left in the care of the tribe elder. She was living a simple life before she could be assigned to doing chores and hunting, but the small girl grew a fascination of seeing the warriors that trained and fight. So much so that the elder decided to assist in training her before she can stand to face the other warriors in her tribe to be accepted in and she did so perfectly. At age eleven, she was already catching up and becoming on par in fighting with warriors both bigger and older than her. It went on for years to the point where the rest of the warriors of the tribe wanted her to be their leader in fighting. However, she didn't find her heart fulfilled enough to just stay and constantly fight. She waited till turning 18 to decide she felt it was the right time to do something more. Just as suddenly, she disappeared and decided to live out a more nomadic lifestyle for herself; traveling and seeing the world and possibly finding her parents. One day however on a stop to Kugane, she went to some local stalls for food when she came across a handsome elezen man that seemed to be around her age. It was the first time to feel any sort of attraction to anyone; she viewed all of those in the tribe around her age as siblings rather than just friends or strangers that she could feel any other feelings past that. She felt more smitten for the man once he finally took noticed and they spoke and hit things off immediately. Soon just a few drinks together led them on their way back to the inn for a night spent together.Only for hungover Sango to wake up confused and alone the next morning. She desperately went to find the man all over town only to finally find someone who told her that man had left that morning via ship, leaving her alone with no goodbye. She would end up finding out that she was carrying the child of a man she remembered not the name of and how he looked like. Not wanting to be alone in this circumstance, she finally decided to return to the tribe in the Steppe where she'd end up raising her child. The shift of how she was treated by the other warriors had changed. While those just doing all the everyday duties of the tribe and the elder had made Sango feel more comfortable in her circumstance and even assisted her in raising her son, Natsume, the warriors of the tribe grew far cold towards her. Not only did she leave the tribe, she returned with a child with an unknown father. They grew far more hostile in words when they learned Natsume is only half Raen, showing their dislike and distance to a child who was left saddened and confused as to why tribe members would not approach him.The warriors eventually cornered Sango with a proposal that meant she either would willingly rejoin the warriors, or they'd convince the elder to rid of her child.Sango instead took it as a challenge with a counter proposal: she'd fight with all the tribes warriors; if she came out victorious, she'd be let go to live her life how she wanted. If she didn't, she'd comply with whatever they'd want her to do. From that point forward, she had left Natsume under the care of the tribe elder, as she decided to take to training to regain her original strength by traveling once more, only this time out to the far lands of Eorzea. Given just a few summers time, she would return to the Steppe to face her trial against those who she trained and fought with.
